insurance & fees

I am currently an in-network provider with the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

  • Magellan/Yale Health Plan

  • United Healthcare

  • Connecticare

  • Harvard Pilgrim

  • Oxford Health

I am an out of network provider for other insurance companies. If I do not accept your insurance my session fees are as follows:

Initial Session/Intake: $175.00

Individual Therapy Session: $150.00

If I am not in network with your insurance company, there still may be options for your therapy to be partially covered by insurance using your out of network benefits. I can provide you with a receipt or “super bill” to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement back to you. Depending on the plan, some out-of-network benefits can cover between 30-80% of session costs. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card to learn more about your out of network options.

Some questions that you will want to ask an insurance representative about your out-of-network benefits:

  1.  Does my plan offer out-of-network coverage for routine outpatient mental health care?

  2.  Do I have an annual deductible for out-of-network mental health benefits and if so, how much of the deductible have I already met ?

  3.  What is my co-pay/co-insurance or what percentage of the provider’s fees does the plan cover?

  4.  Are there a certain number of sessions covered per year?

  5. If I see an out-of-network provider, how do I submit the request for reimbursement?
